Teachers’ Reinstatement
REQUEST FROM BOARD

Auckland, August 5.
In consequence of Mr. Justice Herdman’s decision delivered yesterday, the Auckland Education Board decided today to withdraw the notices of dismissal previously sent to about fifty married women teachers. Further action is contemplated. The board decided to ask the Education Minister whether the court’s judgment represented his desire when he brought the amending legislation before Parliament.’
