Verdict of Suicide

Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, August 5.

A verdict of suicide was given after an inquest into the death of Harry Weir, aged 66, of Liffiton Street, Wanganui, who was found dead, with a shotgun wound in his head, by his wife and daughter when they returned from town yesterday afternoon. In giving his verdict of suicide, . the coroner, Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., said that the evidence pointed to the fact that deceased had been suffering from acute mental depression on account of illhealth at the time of his death.
