SAW FAMILY DROWN
Mother’s Dreadful Ordeal TOLL OF BANK HOLIDAY (Rec. August 4, 9.30 p.m.) London, August 4. At the seaside with her son John and her daughters, Ruth and Ursula, a widow, Mrs. Viliseed, of Haslemere (Surrey) sat on a beach at Chichester Harbour and helplessly watched all three drown. All were strong swimmers.
The brother tried to save his sisters when they were swept to death by the strong currents.
Bank holiday deaths by drowning total twelve.
