Mrs. S. Holloway, of Wellington, is visiting relations at Epsom, Auckland.

Miss Mary Taylor, Shannon, is tl» guest of Mrs. E. Fenwick, Lower Hutt. Miss Mary McLachlan, Christchurch, will arrive in Wellington shortly on an extended holiday in the North Island. Mrs. Edward Riddiford, Lower Hutt, is staying with Mrs. Dudley Kettle in Napier.

Miss Humphries, Lower Hutt, leaves next week from Wellington for San Francisco.

Miss Jessie Tin gey (Wellington), who visited Christchurch in connection with her niece's marriage, has returned to Wellington. As president of the ladies’ auxiliary of the Wellington Symphony Orchestra, Mrs. Knox Gilmer is giving a musical “at home” at the Pioneer Club on Tuesday afternoon, July 21. Mrs. E. Papps, of Paten, has been visiting her mother, Mrs. A. B. McCready, of Wellington, during the latter’s serious illness. Mrs. McCready is now convalescent.

Miss Ysolinde McVeagh, a member of the Auckland Little Theatre Society, who is touring the Dominion with The First Mrs. Fraser” comedy company, is at the Hotel St. George. Miss Hester Wilde, Marton, who has been the guest of Miss W. von Zedlitz, Waterloo Road, Lower Hutt, and who has been staying with Miss Valerie Denniston, Lower Hutt, for the last week, has returned home. , . Invitations have been issued for the Valuation Department’s annual staff dance. Arrangements are in the hands of an energetic committee, and the evening promises to be most enjoyable. The dance music will be supplied by the Revellers’ Orchestra, and an exhibition dance will be given by Mr. Southern College and partner. Mr. and Mrs. G. N. Goldie, of Wellington, are now in London, and during their tour they will visit England, Scotland and Wales, afterward going to the Continent. As a representative of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association and the Maori Lawn Tennis Association, Mr. Goldie is naturally much interested in Wimbledon and other tennis championships. He has already been met by Mr. Woodward, New Zealand's tennis representative in England.
