The “Daily Telegraph’s” Rome correspondent cabled: “Invitation is hoax. If she confirms it she herself is hoaxed.” The correspondent adds that any such action would be Illegal in Italy.

Mrs. Marie Stopes is a well-known advocate of birth control, and has written a number of books on the subject. Signor Mussolini on a number o£ occasions has exhorted fecundity among the Italian people. ' '
