BLOCKED BY SLIP
Koro Koro Road The Koro Koro Road, which is the sole means of access between Petone and the Koro Koro settlement, was completely blocked yesterday by a slip of earth estimated to be about 300 cubic yards. The Petone borough engineer, Mr. Jackson, informed a “Dominion” reporter yesterday that he hopes to have the road clear by midday to-day. It would be necessary, however, to cut away some more of the hill at the point as the overhanging rock was likely to be a source of danger to traffic. Mr. Jackson also stated that there were two or three other slips on the road, but none of them was big enough to block the road entirely. This road was recently widened for the whole of its length by unemployed labour under Public Works supervision.
