Fur the first time in the history of Loudon, horse traffic is forbidden in one of the principal streets of the city. The Ministry of Transport recently announced an experimental plan to operate during the spring, by which Oxford Street, one of the great east-and-west thoroughfares, will be closed daily to all slow-moving traffic, including horse-drawn vehicles, between noon and 7 p.m. The regulations also forbid vehicles standing and turning. If successful, the plan may be extended to other streets.
