CREPE PAPER FLOWERS

Results of Competition Miss Cooper, who was the judge at a competition held at Kirkcaldie and Stains in connection with the Dennison crepe paper flowers, said when announcing the results that the baskets of flowers were all of outstanding merit and that she had great difficulty in awarding the prizes. None of the exhibits camo below 58 per cent., and the highest marks obtained were 93 per cent. The competition aroused a great deal of interest and all those entered were trained by the expert in charge of the Dennison crepe department. The next competition was the best crystal tree made, from sealing-wax. Miss Cooper also said in this connection that the standard of them all was very high and worthy of special mention. The results are as follow: — Flowers and Baskets.—Airs. F. E. H. Martin c/o Pioneer Club, 1; Airs. E. F. Kirk, 26 Aurora Terrace, 2. Highly commended: Airs. J. B. Scott, 24 Hapuia Road, Hataitai; Aliss O. Henderson, 32 Wallace Street, Wellington; Mrs. J, Schmidt, 39 Penrose Street, Lower Hutt Crystal Trees.—Aliss Beryl Hope, The Parade, Island Bay, 1.
