Maheno for Ferry Run

The Union Company's M'cllinglon-Lyt-tclton ferry steamers M'ahine and Maori are due for their annual overhaul and survey, and tlie Maori was withdrawn on her arrival at Lyttelton yesterila.v morning. Each vessel will be laid up for about three weeks.

The Maheno picked up the Maori’s run ntng from Lyttelton last night and is due here about 7.30 a.m. to-day. She will berth at and sail from No. 1 South Queen’s Wharf, instead of at the Kerry Wharf. The Maori will resume from Lyttelton on .lune 6 in place of the Wahine. while that vessel will be withdrawn for overhaul and survey. On June 25 the Wahine is to resume her running from Lyttelton. The Maori will arrive at Lyttelton on June 25 ami will not leave there until the following day, thus resuming the normal running. The Maheno on her arrival at Lyttelton oit June 26 is to proceed to Port Chalmers, where she will pay off and

lay up. The Royal Mail liner Aorangi. whicl) left Auckland for Sydney on Monday evening, will not visit Auckland again for ten weeks. On her arrival at Syd ney on Friday she will be withdrawn io undergo an extensive overhaul, and she will resume in the Vancouver service on July 23. While the Aorangi is being overhauled she will be relieved by the company’s Royal Mail liner Mono wai.
