WOMAN’S PLUCKY ACT
Attempt to Secure Burglar Hearing a noise in one of the bedrooms on Tuesday night at nearly eight o’clock, a woman, living in a house oh Jhe Hutt Road, Petone, went to investigate. She switched on the light, and saw a man standing in the room holding in his hand a purse. The man made for the open window, and the woman caught hold of one of his feet as he dived through it. She called for the other occupants of the house, but before they arrived tlie thief was able to kick himself clear, and get away.
All that was found tp have been stolen was £l, taken from the purse.
