ANXIETY CAUSED
Four Men Missing A FISHING VENTURE Rowboat on Harbour Missing on Wellington Harbour sine* early yesterday morning, four men, residents of Petone, had not been found at 1-30 a.m. to-day. The missing men are:—
JAMES MORGAN, 28 Victoria .Street, aged about 50, married. JAMES SMITH, 80 Victoria Street, aged about 30. married. And two others, whose names could not be ascertained this morning.
The men set out late yesterday morning with the intention of fishing, and were in a small rowing boat. They were not fishermen by occupation, being merely on a pleasure trip. Nothing further was heard from them, and after dark the relatives became anxious, and finally notified tha Petone police just before midnight that the men were overdue.
A telephone message to Somes Island met with the reply that they had not been sighted from there. No details of the locality in which they intended to fish were known this morning, and it is hoped that they have put into the shore at some spot along the sparsely settled coastline.
