Hot air blown from a machine when a button is pressed is a new skin-drying invention which is'ousting towels in Paris cafes, restaurants, and bars. On washing hands and face a man stands.in front of the machine, presses the button, and is completely dry in 10 seconds. Thousands of pounds, it is said, will be saved, as clean towels become unnecessary. Buildings in London cannot exceed a height of 80 feet without permission of the London County Council. This limit does not include ornamental towers and turrets, and is also exclusive of two stories in the roof. The height of these additional stories is only limited by the statutory slope of the roof; so the total actual height of the building may be over WO feet,
