IN WOMAN’S CLOTHES

Man in Picture Theatre

“DID IT FOR A WAGER”

Dominion Special Service.

Dunedin, May 6.

“He was fully dressed in women’s apparel—even lipstick and a powder puff," said Detective-Sergeant Nuttall concerning Herman Leonard Kollers, who was charged with being'an idle and disorderly person in that he wore women’s apparel. He pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant Nuttall said that last night. Kollers attended one of the local picture theatres dressed as a woman. The theatre staff became suspicious and communicated with the police. Detectives went to the theatre, and located accused, and after the performance was over they followed him. In reply to the magistrate Kollers said that he did it for a wager. A man bet him 10/- he was not game to go to the pictures dressed as a woman. He borrowed the clothes from a friend. The magistrate: Well, it looks as if the wager was not worth taking when you see where it has landed you. Detective-Sergeant Nuttall said that when Kollers made a statement on the previous night he refused to say with whom lie had made the wager. The magistrate said he would like some further information, about accused before dealing with him. It might have been a harmless prank or it might have been something more sinister. Accused would be remanded till Saturday
