AIRWAYS PURCHASE
West Australian Machine (Rec. April 30, 11.30 p.m.) Perth, April 30. Imperial Airways, Limited, has purchased a D.H. Hercules air liner from West Australian Airways. Limited, to replace the City of Cairo, forced down recently at Koepang. Delivery will be taken by City of Cairo’s pilots, now en route to Fremantle in the steamer Koolinda. SMITH AT SINGAPORE (Rec. April. 30, 8 p.m.) Singapore, April 30. The Southern Cross, piloted by AirCommodore Kingsford Smith, arrived at 11.45 a.m.
