Game With Maori Club The first event of the New Zealand cricket tour is a practice game against the Maori' Cricket Club in London on Monday next. The Maori Cricket Club is a team playing Saturday afternoon cricket in London, and is largely composed of players who can claim some identification with New Zealand/ One of its members is C. B. Sharpe, a left-hand bowler, who, a year or two ago, played for the Wellington club. It is expected that Harold Gilligan, the captain of the last M.C.C. team in New Zealand and who has resigned the captaincy of Sussex owing to the claims of business, will captain the Maori Club in this engagement, and it is not improbable that he will have in his side others who toured New Zealand with him the season before last. The serious business of the tour commences with the match against Essex on May 6, 7 and 8.
