LODGE MEETINGS

Order of Oddfellows Loyal William Bain Branch Grand United Order of Oddfellows held its usual meeting last Thursday, Bro. Harner, N.G., presiding, and Bro. Brooker, P.N.G., supervising. One member reported bn the sick list, and payment was passed accordingly. General business was dealt with, and before, adjourning for social activities, the Noble Grand extended a hearty vote of welcome to the visitors. Star of Lower Hutt Branch G.U.0.0.F. held its usual meeting last Monday, Bro. Hickling, acting N.G., Bro. Savery, P.N.G., supervising. Two new members were admitted and initiated by the branch officers, and one member was accepted on transfer. One new candidate was proposed for membership. Three members reported on the sick roll. Lovai Ryde Branch G.U.0.0.F. abandoned tlieir usual meeting last week to enable the members to entertain the members of the Ancient Order of Foresters Court Loyal Northland. There was a good attendance of members, and most of the branches in the Wellington district were represented. After the welcome to the visitors by Bro. Ryde, secretary of the social committee harmony commenced. Court Loyal Northland brought indoor bowls, and composite teams were arranged. Miramar Branch G.U.0.0.F. hold its usual meeting last week, Bro. E. Browne, N.G., presiding, and Bro. Bradstock, P.N.G., supervising. A visit was received by the branch of the district council officers, who were in charge of Bro. Hay, District Master. The visitors were accorded lodge honours. During the evening the District Council officers installed the newly elected branch officers. The annual district delegates meeting of the Grand United Order of Oddfellows was hold last Saturday. The business of the day was very heavy, discussions very keen, and debates long, which necessitated many adjournments. There was a heavy bill of suggestions and remits. Following is the result of tlie election of officers for the ensuing term:—Bro. B. Ryde, district master; Bro. C. F. Butler, deputy district master; Bro. R. Norton, district secretary; Bro. C. Tritt, district treasurer; Sister Hooper, Bro. L. C. Browne and Bro. E. J. Casey, district trustees.
