As a sequel to yesterday’s races at Canterbury the A.J.C. stewards have disqualified for twelye mouths R. Byers (owner), P. Riddle (trainer), A. Stanton (jockey), and the colt Prince Elmo for improper practices. The horse ran second in the Juvenile Handicap. Riddle previously was a successful trotting owner and trainer in Australia and New Zealand. Phar Lap Withdrawn. Phar Lap will be withdrawn from aU Sydney engagements and will not race again this autumn. Since his return from his spell he lias not pleased his connections, so he will be given seve.ral months’ holiday. Hobbs; club captain, Mr. 11. Firth; committee, Messrs. Adamson, Davis, Duncan, Ferris, aud Lochliead; lion, auditor, Mr. N. O. Maitland; hon. secretary-trea-surer, Mr. B. Barker. The season will be opened on April 11.
