The Communist Party will put up three candidates for the Christchurch City Council at the municipal elections iu May, and it will contest three seats in Christchurch at the General Election in November. Two of these will be Avon and Christchurch East, now held by Mr. D. G. Sullivan and Mr. H. T. Armstrong respectively, and the third will probably be Christchurch South, now held by Mr. E. J. Howard.
