PRESS TELEGRAMS
Rates Adjusted POSTAGE ON NEWSPAPERS An adjustment of telegraphic and postal rates was announced by the Post-master-General, the Hon. J. B. Donald, last evening. It has been decided by Cabinet that, during the Parliamentary session, the Press telegraphic limits at concession rates would be increased by 2000 words for both morning and evening newspapers. It was further decided that the postage on newspapers should be limited to a penny up to sixteen ounces instead of eight ounces as originally proposed. Mr. Donald announced that the revised telegraphic rates would be effective as from last night, but he had yet to determine the effective date of the altered newspaper postage rate.
