PARKING PLACE WANTED
Shandon Golf Club The Shandon Golf Club applied to the Hutt River Board, at last night’s meeting for the lease of an area of land at present under lease to Uie Wellington City Council. The club stated it wanted the area as a parking place for cars,’ as it understood the City Council was giving up the area on the expiration of its lease. If the area was leased to it, stated the club’s letter, it would obviate the necessity of cars going over greens and damaging them, in an endeavour to find a parking place. The elub hoped the board would charge only a nominal rental. It was decided to reply that the question could not be considered while the Wellington City Council had the lease.
