Notes from Clubs (By “Aperture.”) The second annual meeting of the Onslow Miniature Rifle Club was held in the clubroom on February 25. The election of officers resulted: —Patron, Mr. It. A. Swanger, H. Weeds. The report and balance-sheet showed a satisfactory position. P.W.M.C. Eadies’ Club. There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the P.W.M.C. Ladies’ Club on February 14. The report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, showed that the club is in a sound financial position. Emmett; hon. treasurer,. Mrs. C, Lusty; delegate W.M.R.A., Mrs. Fuller; coach, Mr. F. Kershaw’; hon. auditors, Mr. and Mrs. Verrail; handicapper, Mr. L. Wales; selectors, Mesdames Cunliffe and Fuller and Mr. Kershaw; chairman, Mr. Lippett; committee, Mesdames Davies, Verrall, Wales, and Ward, and Miss Lusty. The vice-presidents and the Petone Ladies, Hutt Valley Ladies, P.W.M.C., and the Petone Central Clubs have been Invited to the official opening of the 1931 season on March 24. Working Men’s Club. The annual meeting of the Working Men's Club was held on March 4 at the club range. Mr. A. D. Pickard (president) was in the chair, and there was a large attendance. A successful year was disclosed by the report and balance-sheet. There has been a good increase in the membership of the club, the total being 71, against 40 last season. The officers elected were: —President, Mr. A. D. Pickard ; vice-president, Mr. H. J. Shanks; club captain, Mr. 11. Roberts; vice-captain, Mr. It. Pattison; committee, Messrs. J. Walmsley, G. Walker, W. Cherry, T. Nalsbitt, and J. Mackay; hon. auditor, Mr. 11. J. Shanks; delegate to W.M.R.A., Mr. G. Walker; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. H. Collins. The trophy winners for 1930 were:—Club championship, H. Roberts (2689); runner up, G. Walker (2683); Alabaster points cup. H. Roberts; highest score off rifle, G. Walker (3484); runner up, R. Pattison (3459). Trophies: H. Roberts (4), J. Smart (5), G. Walker (3), R. Pattison (3), M. Bird (2), C. Saul, J. Denholm, T. Nnisbltt, E. Carter, and J. Woods. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to donors of trophies, Messrs. Ellis and Manton, Ltd., (gold medal to champion), Messrs. Wltcombe and Caldwell, Ltd., Messrs. A. D. Pickard, 11. J. Shanks, H. Douglas, A. Roberts, J. Sullivan, A. Skerrett, J. Kent, R. Harris, J. Wallis, E. Short, W. Conibear, G. A. Stone, P. Hooper, D. Alabaster, J. Price, H. Roberts, G. Walker, H. Tredegear, H. B. Swain, A, Lowe, E. E. Lewis, and H. Cummins. The sympathy of the club is extended to the relatives and friends of the late Mr. Roger Harris and Mr. E. E. Lewis. Notes in General. Secretaries of clubs are urged to send in reports of annual general meetings, etc., addressed to “Aperture,” Government Life Insurance Building, Wellington. The Port Nicholson Ladies’ Club will hold its annual general meeting on Thursday, March 26, at the Harbour Board range.
