POLICEMEN’S PICNIC

Results of Sports Events Ideal weather yesterday drew a crowd of over a thousand people to the Hutt Park for the police picnic. A large number of visitors was present, and in addition to all the usual attractions of a picnic, a number of races was' run off. Toys, eatables and drinks also helped to make the day as enjoyable to the younger folks as to their elders. The police championship was won by Constable W. S. Brown, of Taranaki Street Station, and at' the conclusion of the sports programme Superintendent Emerson presented the prizes. Detailed results are as follow:— 100 Yards Police Championship.—Constable W. S. Brown (Taranaki Street), 1; Constable R. Sutherland (Wellington South), 2; Detective 11.
