NEW STAMP ISSUE
Pictorial Designs PRIZES FOR SAMPLES Designs for pictorial postage stamps are invited by the Postmaster-General, Hon. J. B. Donald. The wide demand for a new issue which would assist in advertising New Zealand was referred to in “The Dominion” a fortnight ago. The values of the new issue will be in approximately 15 denominations ranging from jd. to 3/-, and a prize of £25 will be paid for each design adopted for the new series. Designs must be submitted by September 30 next, and a board comprising art authorities and Government departments will adjudicate. The specifications state that each stamp must bear a representation of New Zealand scenery or genre, or an industrial or agricultural scene. The Id. tt imp will be green, the Id. red. and the ”Jd dark blue, but for other values, the artist may suggest colours. The entries are to be submitted under a pseudonym. If anv design is utilised within five years of the new issue, the designer will renotee £l5 Full specifications are available at Po»t offices.
