COLLEGE GARDEN PARTY
A garden party will be held on the Wellington College grounds this afternoon. Gailv-coloured marquees will contain splendid opportunities for would-be purchasers of cakes, sweets, flowers, and . Produce, fancywork, books, ices and soft drinks, f while those in search of other amusements will find much Interest in golf putting, archery, etc. A mystery tent promises attraction of a novel description, while afternoon tea will be served In the dining hall. The garden party will commence at 2 n m and will be formally opened by ins Worship the Mayor. Mr. 2.30 p.m. The band of the Wellington Bovs’ Institute will be in attendance. The proceeds of the garden party will be devoted partly to the improvement of the Wellington College grounds and partly to the furnishing of a substantial don ation to the earthquake fund. K the weather is unfavourable for an open air gathering, arranged for in the old east school lyoilding.
