The Junior Dominion
Dear Boys and Girls. — How do you like the prize-winning entries in the sketching and verse competitions? Personally, 1 think they are splendid. Mary pitching-has painted a charming little word-picture that makes us long to be back at the seaside looking for shrimps in the clear rockpools. The three little people in Myra Slight’s drawing also seem to be having a jolly time. Now, I have a nice piece of news for you. Among the piles of letters on my desk one morning this week, I found one from "Cinderella,” who has started a club for children in a town in Shropshire, England. And, what do you think! The town is another Wellington. Cinderella’s Club members are called Playmates, and. many of them wish to write to children in New Zealand.
If any of you wish to have Playmate pen-friends (and I am sure you willy write and tell me, and I shall send your names to Cinderella. Won’t it be splendid to know all about another large children’s club just like our own, and, through our letters, to link New Zealand still more closely to the Motherland?
If you would like to write to Cinderella yourselves, her address is Playmates’ Club, "Journal” Office, Wellington, Shropshire.—KlWl. .
