STARVING DOGS ON CHAIN
; Man Convicted and Fined Masterton* March 13. When Captain James Henry o£ the SPC A; visited the residence of Martin Jepsen at the foot of the Rlmutaka Hill, be found six well-bred Irish Setters chained up and in a starving condition. As a result Jepsen was fined £5 by Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Featherston Magistrate’s Court. Jepsen said that at the time of the inspector's visit he had been giving the dogs medicine to have them in good condition for show purposea. They had to be kept on the chain a prevention against sheep-worrying.
