RISKY TRIP

Coastal Yacht Cruise Dominion Speciai Service. Christchurch, March 8. In an 18ft. yawl-rigged craft two men left New Plymouth on Tuesday for Lyttelton. The crew consists of Mr. H. L. R. Hudson, engineering student at Canterbury College, and Mr. S. J. H. bilverster, who was last year assistant lecturer in geology at Canterbury College. New Plymouth fishermen hold the opinion that the venture is oue attended with many risks. The men intend to call at d’Urville Island and Pieton. The vessel possesses no engine, and the freeboard is only about fifteen inches. She was built a few weeks ago. The last heard of the vessel was at ei"ht o’clock on Tuesday morning, when a fishing launch passed nearby, and learned that there was on board a radio set, a compass, an Admiralty chart of the New Zealand coast, 32 gallons of water, and good supply of tinned food.
