An invitation has been extended to the Mayor of Petone and councillors to attend a special Day of Prayer service at St. Augustine’s Church, Petone. The service will have special reference to the problem of unemployment. The lessons will be read by Mr. Walter Nash, M.P., and Mr. J. C. Burns, a member of the borough council. A COLD SEASON. It has been pointed out in various directions that each summer is a few degrees colder than that of the previous year. Some have even asked, “Where is the summer?” While this question cannot be satisfactorily answered, there is one point that cannot be passed over.
