LUNCHEON TO MENZIES

English-speaking Union

Mr. Guv Menzies was the guest of honour at‘a large lunch party given by the English-speaking Union yesterday. The new rooms of the Dominion Farmers’ Institute were used, and the guests were seated at small tables decorated with scabious and hydrangea. At the"official table sat Mrs. Leigh Hunt. Mrs. Bennie. Mr. Guy Menzies, Mr. James, Mr. Leigh Hunt. Mr. Martin. Mr. Anscombe, and Mr. Salt. After the speeches Mrs. Bennie was asked to pin on Mr. Menzies’s cont the badge of life membership presented to him by the English-speaking Union. Among those noticed having lunch were: Mrs. Roskruge. Mrs. Eaton, Mrs. Rule, Mrs. Biggar, Mrs. F. Ffitch. Mrs. Preston, Miss Preston. Mrs. Dr. Mcßae, Mrs. McEldowney, Mrs. Wheeler. Mrs. Doctor, Miss Andrae, Miss Young, Mr. W. Davidson, Mr. and Miss Matheson, Mr. and Mrs. Knowles. Mrs. Gibbons. Mr. Greig, Mr. W. Page, Mr. Morpeth. Miss Anscombe, Misses Mason, Mrs. Garter, bliss Carter. Mrs. Mngnus, and Mrs. Reich. , . . „ Mr. Menzies, who was enthusiastically received, spoke modestly and interestingly on his flight
