In reply to representations by the Wellington Automobile Club the general manager of railways has promised to investigate a complaint that the signal lights at the Petone level crossing are not bright enough. When the question was discussed nt a meeting of the club recently the opinion was expressed that perhaps the lens was too dark and the smoke of the trains possibly affected vision. This, it was stated, referred particularly to the lights facing ears going north. It was also stated that the railway buses were continuing to stop immediately in front of the sign.
