ROYAL ROMANCE
Love of Swedish Prince
PARENTS’ INDISCRETION
Stockholm, February 1.
A romance of Prince Lennart, the twenty-one-year-old grandson of King Gustav, ended in the refusal of - the King to sanction his marriage with Karin Nissvandt, the beautiful 19-year-old daughter of a Swedish business man.
The report of the engagement was published in the Stockholm newspapers, which stated that the couple merely awaited the formal consent'of the King. This caused a sensation in Court circles. It was officially intimated that the King considers the couple t'oo young. It is an open secret, however, that the real reason is because the Royal Family, and virtually the entire Swedish nobility, believe that Karin’s parents were responsible for the premature publication of the engagement report.
