Due Auckland Thursday

The Federal Company have received a wireless message from the New Zealand Shipping Company’s new motor ship Ota,o, eu route from Liverpool, on her maiden voyage, reporting that she expects to reach Auckland at 5 p.m. on Thursday. She brings West Coast United Kingdom cargo fo r r at Auckland, Wellington Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers, and is Jue about February 11.

TASMANIA LEAVES BRISBANE. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Tasmania left Brisbane last Friday for Wellington, and is due here at 10 a.m. on Thursday. After adjustments have been made to her holds, she will load homewards in New Zealand.

CAMBRIDGE REPORTS. The New Zealand Shipping Company have received a wireless message from the Cambridge, en route from Antwerp, reporting that she expects to reach Auckland at 5 a.m. on Friday. She brings basic slag for discharge at Auckland and New Plymouth.

SOMERSET LEAVES LONDON. The New Zealand Shipping Company have received cabled advice that the Somerset left London last Friday for Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Timaru, New Plymouth, and Nelson. She is due at Lyttelton on March 9.

Mr. Rankine, who was born In Ayrshire, Scotland, entered, the Union Company’s service on May 1, 1902, as second engineer of the Aparlma, and was later for two years second engineer of the Moeraki. Subsequently he was acting chief engineer of the Kauri and chief engineer of the tug Terawhlti from October, 1907, till March, 1925. He later served as chief engineer on the Kiwitea.
