A small show of oil was encountered to-night by New Plymouth Oil Wells, Limited, at a depth of 1085 feet. Mr. R. H. Launder, drilling supervisor, explained that this was what experts termed a “show.” “It is far above the depth at which I anticipate a big strike,” said Mr. Launder, “but there was quite a good show of gas accompanying the oil.
