“COMMON NECESSITY”
Motor-cars in Business “In these days of advanced motor traffic vre are troubled with complaints about the dust nuisance from all parts of the city," said the chairman of the works committee, Councillor R. A. Wright, M.P., in replying to a Tasman Street, deputation, yesterday. “I am not complaining at people having motorcars ; nearly everyone has them except the members of the works committee—even the Labour members have them.” “I've got one,” said Councillor R. Semple, “but I keep out of Tasman Street.” “I also have one,” said Councillor G. Mitchell, “and I use Tasman Street a great deal, hnd can endorse every word these people have said about the condition of the street.” “I am not condemning the motor-car — don’t think that,” added Councillor Wright. “They are a common necessity, especially to the man in business—they are as necessary as the newspapers and telephones.”
