BEAUTIFYING PETONE
Beach Pavilion Loan Recently the Local Bodies Loans Board refused consent to the Petone Borough Council to raise a loan of £4OOO on behalf of the Petone Beautifying Society for the purpose of erecting a pavilion on. the beach.' It suggested , certain amendments in the conditions. The board wrote to the Petone Borough Council, "and the question was referred to the executive of the Beautifying Society. It is now ascertained that representatives of the society have met members of the board and that an agreement has been reached in accordance with the board’s suggestions. There is every possibility, therefore, that in a short time permission will be given by the board for the necessary steps to be taken toward securing the money required.
