N.S.W. BOWLERS

Visit to Wanganui Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, January 26. One rink of New South Wales bowlers visited Wanganui to-day, and were the guests of the Wanganui Bowling Club. The visitors found the greens very heavy after the recent rains. Mr. A. Jones, president of the Wanganui Bowling Centre, welcomed the Australians. The skip of the New South Wales team, Mr. Yates, in his reply, said that they had just come from Auckland and the standard of play seen at the Dominion tournament there was magnificent. There was one thing that could with great advantage be altered, said Mr. Yates. “In my opinion two lives in post-section play is an absurdity and resolves itself into an endurance test, and the older bowlers cannot stand up to it.’’ The game to-day resulted ns follows: New South Wales (Boler, Barrett, Barter, Yates), 23, lost to Wanganui (Ayler, Johnson, Foster, Crawford). 38. To-morrow morning the visitors will be motored round the city and suburbs and in the afternoon will be the guests of the St. John's Bowling Club. They will proceed to Palmerston North on Wednesday.
