WALKED INTO HOLE
- / Accident While Wading YOUNG BOY DROWNED By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, December 28. A boy aged sixteen years, John Maher, was drowned iu'-the Waiohine River, Greytown, this afternoon. Deceased went to the river in company with a lad of eleven and waded into the river for some distance when he suddenly disappeared into a deep hole. The body was recovered three-quarters of an hour later. Maher was employed as a farm hand by William. Walsh, of Ahiakouka, and came from St. Joseph’s Home. Upper Hutt.
