MATTHEWS LEAVES
Hop-off on Return Trip PUSS-MOTH OVERHAULED (Rec. December 28,. 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, December 28. Only a*'small knot of people saw Captain Matthews off on his return flight to England to-day. His little De Haviland Puss-Moth, in which he came from England, has been overhauled. He carries a spare propeller and sufficient fuel for eighteen hours’ flying—practically 2000 miles’ cruising range. Matthews expects to hop off from Darwin on Thursday on his first sea leg of the journey. •
