MOUNT COOK SCENERY

A very useful booklet descriptive of Mount Cook and its glaciers has been published.by Whitcombe and Tombs. Mr. G. E. Mannering, who commenced his expeditions to the mountain in 1886, has written the letterpress, which includes an early climbing history and a description of the main glaciers and huts usually visited by tourists. The clever bird’seye view of the region prepared for the Lands and Survey Department has been reproduced, wth many ordinary and panoramic views from negatives taken by the author and Messrs. Marcel Kurz and J. W. McKenna, Summer and winter views arc both well represented.
