Mrs. J. H. Warboys (Christchurch) is the guest of Mrs. Tamblyn, Lower Hutt. Mr. aud Mrs. Butler, of Wellington, are at present in Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. T. Brook, of Wellington, are visitors to Christchurch. Miss Enid Wilson is on a visit to Christchurch. ' Miss J. Eagan, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland. Mrs. E. W. Kane, of Bolton Street, has returned from a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. K. Arthur has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. Alan Cameron has returned from a visit to Taranaki. Mrs. F. E. Fleury, Martinborough, is spending a few days in Masterton. Mrs. G. W. Sellar, Masterton, has been visiting Wellington. Mr, and Mrs. C. Palmer, Te Wharau, have been visiting Mauriceville. Mrs. F. Cooper, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned home. Mr. and Mrs. A. Johnston, of Christchurch, are visiting Napier. Mrs. A. McClure, of Napier, has returned from a visit to the U.S.A, and Canada. Mrs. Claud Batten has returned to Wellington after a visit to Mrs. Paul Hunter at Porangahau. Lady Rutherford, who has been visiting in the north, returned to Christchurch on Monday. Mrs. Sinclair, Auckland, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. Nielson, Mauriceville West. Mrs. F. M. Dennehy and Miss M. Dennehy, of Greymouth, are visiting Auckland. Mrs. D. H. Rutherford, Pownall Street, Masterton, is the guest of Miss E. McDonald, “Summer Hill,” Martinborough. Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Watkins have issued invitations for an open evening at the Boys’ Institute on, Monday evening next. ‘ ,In honour of her approaching marriage Miss Hazel Johnston was tendered a “flag bridge” gift' evening by Mrs. G. Murdock. ./ Mrs. Smith is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Alistair McKillop,. in Christchurch. They leave at the end of the week with Mrs, McKillop’s children to spend the holidays camping at Waikuku. A largely-attended and most successful garden. fete, which was assisted by the various women’s organisations in Auckland, under the convenership of Mrs. Kenneth Gordon, in aid of funds for the cancer campaign, was held in ideal weather conditions in the grounds of the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Auckland, on Saturday afternoon. The fair was officially opened by the Mayoress, Mrs. A. D. Campbell. Last Saturday the Canterbury Women s Club of Christchurch celebrated its seventeenth birthday with an old-fashioned party, members wearing dresses of long ago, some which had been preserved since the days of crinoline and watteau. More than one member wore her mother’s wedding dress. The foundation members were guests of honour, and each received a posy, and Mrs. Holland, who, as Mayoress, had opened the club in 1913, presented Mrs. Flesher, the president, with a bonquet of flowers.
