Championship Tourney
KIRK-WINDEYER CUP
No autumn tournament for professional golfers will be held in’ the Dominion next year, but the prize money for professional events at the open championship in that year will be increased. This decision was come to at the monthly meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council on Monday. Mr. W. E. A. Gill presided, and there were also present Colonel R. O. Chesney, Sir Alexander Roberts, and Messrs. A. D. S. Duncan. W. A. Kiely, M. J. Crombie, and G. O. Sutton (secretary). ' , Sir Alexander Roberts was elected chairman of the council and Mr. A. D. S. Duncan vice-ehairman. Mr. Gill reported the result of a lengthy interview with Mr. W. A. Windeyer in Sydney last month with regard to the conditions of future KirkWindeyer Cup matches, rind it was resolved, in view of the information obtained by Mr. Gill, that a sub-commit-tee consisting of Sir Alexander Roberts, Mr. GUI and Mr. Crombie should again consider the conditions of the competition. Itinerant Coaches. The secretary was instructed to make inquiries as to what suitable professionals ere likely to be available as travelling coaches for 1931. The secretary reported that the 2o copies of tEe rules of golf, printed- on large sheets of cardboard, which Were ordered from England a few months ago, should be here within the next few days and would be available to clubs at cost price. Forthcoming Tourneys.
Dates of forthcoming tournaments were advised as follow: —Christchurch Golf Club, annual Christmas tournament, December 26, 27- and 29; Miramar Golf Club, New Year tournament, January,!, 2 and 3.
