Bright Programmes from 2YA

A bright and varied programme to be broadcast from 2YA this evening will be given by the Salon Orchestra, the Meiodlo Four, Mrs. B. S. Allwright, Mr. Will McKeon, and Miss Maisie Oaks. A novelty Item .of interest to Scotsmen in particular will be the bagpipe solos by Mr. Diek i'letcher, a memoer of the local Pipe Band. This evening the IYA Broadcasting Choir, Auckland, will 'present “St. John s Jive,’’ an old English idyll composed by Sir Frederick Cowen and dedicated to the people of Melbourne, Victoria, to mark his association With the Melbourne Exhibition of 1888-9, when he conducted the famous choir. In the second portion of the programme Miss Daphne Higham, violinist, will play, and a trio (Misses Gwladys I’ayne, Cathleen Mulqueen, and Mr. H. S. I’oiileyi and Mr. Len Barnes, baritone, will sing.
