SOCIAL NOTES

Mr. and Mrs. Hart, of. Wellington, have been visiting Taranaki. Miss Norma Ashton, of Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs. J. H. Ashton, New Plymouth. Sister George, of Wellington, is spending a holiday with her cousin, Miss Collorick, at Tuatapere. Miss M. Myers, who has been staying with Miss Polson in Stratford, has returned to Wellington.

Mrs. J. C. Brown, of Westport, has returned south after visiting Palmerston North and Wellington. Mrs Cameron, who has been the guest of Mrs. C. Howe in New Plymouth for several weeks, returned to Wellington last week-end.

Sir Stanley and Lady Fisher, who have been touring the South Island, have left by the Hinemoa for a trip to the Sounds.

Captain and Mrs. J. Fraser, of Wellington, have gone south, where they will join Mr. and Mrs. H. Cock, of Christchurch in a motor trip to the West Coast.

Dr. Edgar Ford, examiner for Trinity College of Music, and Mrs. Ford, who have been in the South Island, returned to Wellington at the week-end on their return to England. Miss Mildred Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Nelson, of Woodville, has been chosen by the Edgar • Wallace management to play the lead in On the Spot,” for its No. 1 tour of the big English towns.
