Wickham, R. Lilburn (Wanganui), McLean (Fordell), McFarlane (Waverley), and Misses Jordon and Elmslie were visitors to Palmerston North on Friday to attend the Bush nurse and housekeeper meeting. Mr. and Mrs. C. 11. E. Rhodes officiated as judges at the flower show held by the gardening circle of the Lady Jellicoe Club, Wanganui, on Friday afternoon. The latest fashion among city typists is to wear brightly-coloured coats of the blazer type to protect light blouses and summer frocks from the dust, writes a Londoner. The streets round the Bank and the Mansion House at lunch-time are gay with blazers in scarlets, blues and greens. Boards of directors of large concerns, who in the past have tried to make their feminine staff wear overalls of a uniform colour, must be watching this new fashion with some amusement.
