College v. Rest EASY VICTORY SCORED A match was played on the Wellington College ground yesterday between the Wellington College first eleven and a team representing the other secondary schools in the city. Wellington College proved much superior in all departments of the game, and had an easy victory by 185 runs to 76. Wellington v. Wairarapa In both senior and junior sections Wellington has the advantage in the annual cricket matches at present being played between the Wellington and Wairarapa primary schools. In the junior section Wellington has already won by an innings, having compiled 88 in the first strike to Wairarapa’s two efforts of 44 and 37. In the senior section Wellington has hit up 134 in the first innings, and Wairarapa has made a total of 50 in its first innings, and has lost four wickets for 28 in the second. In the senior match, Wairarapa fell for 50 in the first innings, Donaldson (13) and Coradine (12) being the only double-figure scorers. Bowling for Wellington, Parker took three wickets for 21 runs, Edwards three for 13, Gray one for 7, Tolan one for 4, and McKeown one for 0. Wellington totalled 134, Tolan (41), Parker 41 not out, and Bell (17) being the highest scorers. Bowling for Wairarapa, Vincent secured five wickets for 25 runs, Donaldson two for 35, and McCullough one for 12. In the second innings Wairarapa scored 28 for the loss of four wickets, Lochore making 10. In the junior game Wairarapa totalled 44 (Nix 13), and 37 (Broughton 20), while Wellington scored 88 (Aitken 21, Craven 17, Bush 12, and Burns 11). Bowling for Wellington, Aitken took three wickets for 12 runs, and two for 9; Coombs, one for 8; Wales, three for 7, and two for 15; Rough one for 0, and one for 11; Bush, one for 4. and one for 1; Burns, one for 6. and Moss two for 0.
