FRUIT PROBLEMS
Mr. Hatton Entertained The executive council of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture took the opportunity ,of entertaining Mr. R. G. Hatton, director of the Imperial Board of Fruit Production, East Maling, England. during his brief stay in Wellington yesterday. Addresses of welcome were given by Mr. J. A. Campbell, chairman, in the unavoidable absence of Mr. F. J. Nathan, president; Dr. L. Cockayne, F.R.S., Professor H. B. Kirk, and Messrs. Il B. Oliver and G. Green. In acknowledging the greetings Mr. Hatton gave an interesting account of the objects of tbe East Maling Research Station and its work. He expressed himself as well pleased with his visit to New Zealand nnd stated that it was the intention of Mrs. Hatton and himself to again visit New Zealand when their son was of sufficient age to decide whether he would like to stay in the Dominion.
