Canadians Want Instructor REQUEST TO N.Z. UNION Replying to a request from a Canadian athletic organisation the New Zealand Rugby Union has decided that it cannot recommend anyone for a position as instructor and trainer in Rugby, but the secretary. Mr. A. E. Neilson, is to forward any literature dealing with the game in New Zealand. The request was contained in a letter from the secretary of the Canadian Legion Guards A.A.C., sponsors of the Memorial Field, Grace Bay. Nova Scotia. “W* are desirous of improving our game of Rugby and would like to know where we might secure an instructor and trainer.” it said. “We would dearly low to take this crowd of huskies over to England and do even half as well as your te "W°e f wroto 2 ?o Wales early this year, and the man the Cardiff club recommended was token out by us. and. believe me, he was one sweet ‘dud. We don t want nnv repetition and we have faith in New Zealand. I fully realise that under the Fn-lish code one is not permitted to have a paid coach in the club, buf then one may hare a man paid as a trainer and conditioner who could also coach tu team play, scrum formation and other departments.’-’-
