Steady work has been accomplished by the Kelburn Group. The Nature Study Patrol, under P/L. D. Mackenzie, meets during the week at the clubroom, and on Saturday afternoons is laying out a garden in front of the clubroom near the observatory with flowers and shrubs. The weekly lectures are taken by’the scouts themselves and are proving most instructive. It is hoped that all scouts in the troop, will be through their second class by Christmas. There will be no camp this year at Christmas—the first occasion for many years—but one will be held at Easter time instead. The first meeting of the Old Boys’ Association was held last Wednesday week, when there was a good attendance, in spite of the weather. Officers and committee for .the ensuing year were elected, and all present were very keen about the old troop, which has been in existence for the past twenty-one years. Kent Terrace Group is busy preparing for the Chief Scout’s rally, one of the items being the taking part jih the natural camp. On Monday, December, 15, the group will entertain the Kllbifhie Scout Troop, win-, ners of the first aid ’competition at the annual competitions, and; .this-, will also be made the occasion for. the break-up night for the year—a special cake being provided by the committee with four large scouts' thereon, later to be presented to the Kent Terrace first aid team, runners-up in the competition to Kilbirnie.
