It transpires that Mr. Montagu Norman, Governor of the Rank of England. who made a hurried transfer from the liner Bremen to the liner Majestic at Cherbourg on Saturday and hurried back to London, had no intention of going to America. He was anxious to have a farewell talk with Mr. Harrison, governor of the United States Federal Reserve system, who Ums sailing by the Bremen, atm decided to accompany him to Cherbourg. He transferred to the Majestic according to schedule. A message received on Sunday referred to Mr. Norman’s movements in terms that suggested an emergency situation.
