NATIONALS CLASH
British and Italians CANE FIELDS FRACAS (IteC. December 1, 11.110 p.nu) Hrisbhiie, December 1. A serious clash occurred in the vicinity of Tully between British and foreign nationals engaged in the sugarflelds. Many were injured. The combatants are all caneworkers. Sticks, stones, bottles, knives and pistols were used. George Norfls has a wound in his Chest ten Inches lotig. Harry Ilobertson has a knife stab in the back. An Italian has a bullet wound in the leg and an Italian Woman is suffering from a wound In the head. Five other Italians Were treated In hospital Cot cuts and abrasions. The clash was the outcome of bad feeling due to the ever-increasing influx of foreigners.
